Day 325 of 2025
“Fractured Hours: Healing in Scattered Light”
If you hadn't been wearing this, you'd still be in the building, but you wouldn't be talking to anyone.
George Drive, 4:17 PM, Overcast
Pressure: falling.
Visibility: partial — obstructed by screen glare,
bandage wrap, oil on water in the kitchen sink.
Conditions: scattered fragments with
intermittent clearing. A cold front
moved through in July and hasn't
entirely passed. Expect residual
stiffness in the afternoons,
brief windows of warmth near the stove.
Outlook: the clouds will continue
to move through every room of the house.
Meetings will adjourn. Dinner will be
served. The body will knit itself
back together the way weather does —
not by deciding to, but because
the system has no other design.
Advisory: do not confuse
the ordinary for the healed.
Do not confuse the healed
for the finished.
Sunset: 8:41 PM.
Somewhere behind all of it,
the sun.
