CABLE RUN, PARTIALLY COMPLETED Specimen: 160mm of Category 6 twisted-pair, mid-pull through 89mm stud cavity, arrested at the horizontal nogging. Condition: Inert. Terminus unconnected. No signal present or intended at time of acquisition. Provenance: Retrieved from a Wellington commercial building during scheduled fit-out, winter 2026. The installer had stepped away. The cable remained in this position for approximately forty minutes before work resumed. Note on significance: The specimen belongs to a class of objects whose meaning is entirely positional — neither installed nor uninstalled, it exists only as potential and direction. The arrow the hand makes before it points. Note on display: The free end has been left unterminated. The jacket is cold to the touch.
