FAULT Above the line: we agreed on agenda items. Below the line: someone's kid found the paint. Above the line: fluorescent tubes replaced quarterly. Below the line: a handprint still warm from the radiator. Above the line: minutes taken, action items assigned. Below the line: minutes lost, action taken anyway. Above the line: the building knows your name. Below the line: the building doesn't care. The column between them is not a person. It is what a person becomes when they stand in a doorframe too long, waiting for the meeting to end so they can go outside and put their hands in something.
