FIELD NOTE — Wellington, 38.5°S, 16 March 2026
Specimen: Coffea arabica residue, ceramic vessel #4 (chipped, south rim)
Time of collection: 16:03 NZDT
Conditions: Overcast thinning to pale glare. Wind SW, 22 km/h.
The surface tension held longer than expected.
I counted fifteen tasks reflected before the meniscus broke—
a breath, a tap of the pen,
and they dissolved into one dark disc again.
Note: the child called from the hallway during observation.
I turned. When I looked back,
the reflection had reorganised itself
around her voice.
This is not a repeatable result.
I have tried seven times.
It reorganises every time.
