LOAD-BEARING STRUCTURES OF AN ORDINARY DAY Upper room: two figures, upright, the brief held between them like a folded map. Lower room: the same two figures, but ninety minutes later — leaning in, papers fanned, one hand mid-air above the table as if demonstrating the weight of something that has no weight. The lamp makes a small brass argument for warmth. Outside: a winter sky without an opinion. The carpet tiles are the size of postage stamps. The load-bearing walls do not know they are being photographed.
