This one presents without a hand to reach for it. The spiral of vapour continues regardless. The chair opposite is present but unstated. The cup is not abandoned; abandonment requires prior possession. The cup is simply ahead of its moment, or behind it — the catalogue does not distinguish. Slight indentation in the chair cushion not attributable to any known party. The fantail on the ledge was not deposed. Outside, winter sky in mineral blue. The building continues.
