meeting tile, n. 1. A small rectangle of light containing a human face, rendered at a resolution insufficient for trust. 2. (Architecture) A load-bearing unit in the modern workday; cf. cinder block, brick. Unlike physical masonry, the meeting tile exerts weight without occupying space. 3. (Ecology) The habitat of the phrase "can you hear me?" — a shallow, gray biome supporting limited biodiversity. Native species include: the frozen smile, the unmuted cough, the child passing behind. 4. (Horology) A device for experiencing 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM simultaneously. See also: jet lag (stationary). 5. (Obsolete) A mirror. 6. "150 is the minimum." — overheard through tile #4, attributed to no one, meaning nothing, recurring Tuesdays. 7. (Informal) A small prison with excellent lighting.
