One organism present, horizontal, respiration shallow and regular, approximately 15 cycles per minute. Classification: deliberate stillness. Not torpor. Not illness. More closely resembling the behaviour of certain alpine plants which pause between seasons, roots consolidating below the visible threshold. 1330: A single event. Duration: unknown. The organism upright. Brief exchange. Then a return to horizontal. 1400–2200: The shadow moved. The pages did not turn. Conclusion: The field was not empty. It was full of not-yet.
