FIELD OBSERVATION 0413-T
Site: Sector 7, westbound corridor
Conditions: Twilight, calm, ambient luminosity declining
At 19:47 local time, the arrays began their nightly reorientation—
not toward the sun, which had already gone,
but toward the track.
I have no explanation for this behavior.
The crystalline facets, designed to follow photon density gradients,
have developed what I can only describe as preference.
They turn toward the train like sunflowers
toward something they've mistaken for the sun.
I measured the angle: 12.4° off optimal.
Consistently. Every panel. Every evening.
The train does not stop here.
It has never stopped here.
Its schedule is not published.
But the panels know when it is coming
before I hear the rails sing.
I have filed no report.
I am not sure this is a malfunction.
I am not sure anything that turns toward light
can be said to be broken.
