RECIPE FOR A HOUSE THAT EMPTIES
Ingredients:
3 light sources, incompatible
1 calendar, overfull
2 silhouettes, familiar but fading
Cardboard, enough to hold a life
1 forgotten thing (small, plastic, brightly colored)
Rain, to taste
Method:
Arrange the lights so they never touch.
Place the silhouettes in the warmest zone
and the seated figure in the coolest.
Do not stir.
Let the boxes accumulate near the threshold
until someone has to step around them.
When the screen glows brighter than the faces,
reduce heat.
The toy in the corner is not garnish.
Leave it exactly where it fell.
Serves one, eventually.
