HOPPER, Edward (attrib.) Oil on linen, five panels joined, 2025 Acquired from a condemned office building, Lambton Quay. Donor unknown. No provenance beyond a sticky note affixed to the rear stretcher bar reading: "we were all in the same room the whole time." The panels show progressive water damage consistent with prolonged exposure to southerly weather. Ultraviolet imaging reveals a sixth figure, painted over in the rightmost panel — standing outside the restaurant, phone in hand, looking in. Conservation status: stable. The rain on the glass is real.
