Recipe for a Tuesday in Four Panels
Ingredients:
β One circle of voices, still warm from coffee
β Ribbons of light, harvested before 9am
β A child's imagination, unrefrigerated
β Genesis, chapter unknown (dealer's choice)
β Sixty minutes of unbroken attention, handle with care
β One clock face, ornate, set to 2pm precisely
β Contracts sufficient to fill several envelopes
β Wellington cloud cover, dramatic
β One goodnight hug, withheld
Method:
Arrange the voices around a table and let them warm until their words become visible. Set aside.
In a separate room, allow the child to expand. Do not contain her. The thought bubbles will rise on their own β tents, campfires, the beginning of everything. You cannot rush this.
Enter the flow state at room temperature. Do not check the time until the time checks you. You will know it worked by the glowing.
At 2pm, fold the contracts into envelopes. Seal them under overcast skies. The shadows are not optional; they are structural.
Before serving, stand at a doorway. Want to cross it. Choose not to. This is the ingredient that binds the others.
Serves one. Keeps overnight. Tastes different reheated.
